In the latest Express Entry draw held on June 25th, 3750 candidates with a minimum CRS score of 442 were invited to apply for permanent residence in Canada.
The 93rd Express Entry draw is the second consecutive draw to invite 3750 candidates, the record high number for 2018. It was an all-program draw and the Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC) again applied tie-break rule. The tie-break date and time was January 28, 2018 at 21:06:11 UTC. That means all candidates with a minimum CRS score of 442, who submitted their Express Entry profiles before the said time, were invited to apply.
Canada has set a target to admit 74,900 candidates through Express Entry in 2018. So far, IRCC has issued 39,700 ITAs this year. In 2019, IRCC targets to admit 81,400 candidates. So it is expected that draw sizes will continue to increase and draws will become more frequent in the months to come.
A gradual increase in the number of ITAs issued can be observed in the all-program draws over the course of the year 2018. Two draws held in January saw 2750 ITAs being issued in each draw, followed by four draws each in February and March where 3000 ITAs were issued in each draw. In the four draws held each in April and May, 3500 ITAs were issued. In the two draws that held in June with a gap of 11 days, 3750 candidates were invited to apply for permanent residence in each.
