In the Express Entry draw held on July 23, Canada invited 3343 Canadian Experience Class (CEC) candidates to apply for permanent residence in Canada. The minimum Comprehensive Ranking System (CRS) score required in the draw was 445. The draw held just a day after a total of 557 Provincial Nominee Program (PNP) candidates with a minimum CRS score of 687 received invitations in another Express Entry draw.
As in the previous draws, a tie-break rule was applied in the July 23 draw too, the time stamp given being July 12, 2020 at 15:16:55 UTC. It means not all CEC candidates with a CRS score of 445 have received invitations in the draw, but only those who have submitted their Express Entry profiles before the said date and time.
With the latest draw, the total number of Express Entry invitations issued in 2020 has reached 57,700. Though the coronavirus pandemic had an impact on the Express Entry system of Canada, the number of Express Entry invitations issued so far this year is high compared to the same time period in the previous year. It means those who wish to migrate to Canada under Express Entry may still apply for the same, as Canada continues to accept and process applications for permanent residence.
The Express Entry draws have been alternating between PNP-specific draws and CEC-specific draws ever since Canada imposed border restrictions in the wake of Coronavirus pandemic in March. However, Canada conducted the first all-program draw after a gap of four months on July 8. But this week, the Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC) has again gone back to the draws that exclusively target PNP and CEC candidates. The previous CEC-specific draw was held on June 25.
