The Saskatchewan Immigrant Nominee Program (SINP) draw held on September 24 invited 535 immigration candidates to apply for provincial nomination. The invited candidates belonged to the Express Entry and Occupations In-Demand categories of SINP.
This year, SINP has invited 2740 Occupations In-Demand candidates so far. At the same time, the number of Express Entry candidates invited so far this year is 2245. Together, close to 5000 candidates have received invitations from SINP.
SINP Expression of Interest
To receive an invitation from SINP under either of these categories, the candidates must have submitted an Expression of Interest (EoI) profile to the SINP. The Expression of Interest system is used by the SINP to assess the capacity of the candidates to establish themselves economically in the province. The EoI must include information regarding work experience, education, language ability, age and connections to the province. Based on these factors, each candidate is awarded a score out of 100 on the International Skilled Worker Points Assessment Grid of the SINP and the highest-scoring candidates receive an Invitation to Apply for provincial nomination. In the September 24 draw, candidates belonging to both Express Entry and Occupations In Demand subcategories were required to score at least 82 to receive an invitation.
Though a job offer is not necessary to receive an invitation from Saskatchewan, the candidate must have work experience of at least one year in an eligible skilled occupation. The occupation must also be in an area related to their field of study. The candidates must have done Educational Credential Assessments (ECA) to prove that their qualifications earned from outside Canada are equal to Canadian credentials.
SINP Express Entry
In the September 24 draw, 278 Express Entry sub-category candidates received invitations. These candidates, if successfully apply for and obtain a provincial nomination, will have 600 additional Comprehensive Ranking System (CRS) score points added to their total CRS score. It guarantees them an invitation to apply for permanent residence in Canada in the subsequent Express Entry draw.
Occupations In-Demand sub-category
Those candidates who do not have a federal Express Entry profile may apply under the Occupations In-Demand sub-category. In the latest draw, 257 Occupations In Demand candidates received invitations to apply for a provincial nomination. Candidates in 81 occupations such as senior managers, machinery operators and sales representatives received invitations.
