280 immigration candidates invited in Saskatchewan PNP draw

Saskatchewan-PNP-draw-

In the Saskatchewan Immigrant Nominee Program (SINP) draw held on July 21, the province invited 280 candidates to apply for a provincial nomination. The draw specifically targeted immigration candidates eligible under the International Skilled Worker category of SINP. Among the invited, 84 candidates belong to the Express Entry subcategory. The remaining 196 candidates are of the Occupations In Demand subcategory.

They were also needed to have their Educational Credential Assessments(ECAs) done to prove that their educational qualifications were on par with Canadian standards. They also needed to have work experience in one of the 63 in-demand occupations of Saskatchewan.

Saskatchewan Expression of Interest system

The Expression of Interest system allows Saskatchewan to select eligible candidates and nominate them for permanent residence in Canada. The candidates who submit an Expression of Interest will be assessed on the basis of various human capital factors such as age, education, work experience, language ability, previous connections to the province etc. Based on this assessment, each candidate will be awarded a score out of 100 on SINP’s International Skilled Worker Points Assessment Grid. Those with the highest scores will receive an invitation from Saskatchewan to apply for provincial nomination.

SINP Occupations In-Demand subcategory

The Occupations In-Demand sub-category of SINP is for candidates who do not have an Express Entry profile. Highly skilled workers with work experience in one of the in-demand occupations of Saskatchewan and who do not have a job offer from the province may apply under this subcategory.

SINP Express Entry sub-category

The Express Entry sub-category of SINP is aligned to the federal Express Entry system and operates through the SINP Expression of Interest system. To receive an invitation under this sub-category, Express Entry candidates must submit an Expression of Interest. Those who receive a provincial nomination will have 600 additional Comprehensive Ranking System(CRS) score points added to their total CRS score. This guarantees that they will receive an invitation to apply for permanent residence in Canada in a subsequent Express Entry draw.
