Manitoba Provincial Nominee Program
Manitoba manages immigration to the province through the MPNP. The program allows the province to select eligible candidates and nominate them for permanent residence in Canada. If you wish to receive a provincial nomination from Manitoba, you need to submit an Expression of Interest(EoI) to the MPNP. You can be invited under either the Skilled Workers in Manitoba Stream or Skilled Workers Overseas stream. Once you submit the Expression of Interest, Manitoba will rank your profile based on various human capital factors as well as previous connections to the province and award a score out of 1000.
The Skilled Workers Overseas candidates need to demonstrate that they have previous connections to the province in the form of close family ties, previous study or work experience in the province or an invitation issued through one of the Strategic Recruitment Initiatives of Manitoba. However, it is not necessary for you to be residing in Manitoba at the time of submitting the application.
To be eligible under the Skilled Workers in Manitoba category, you need to have a full-time job offer from a Manitoba employer. International graduates who have completed their education in one of the higher education institutions of Manitoba may receive an invitation through the International Education Stream of Manitoba.
Manitoba Express Entry
The Express Entry system manages applications for immigration under the three economic immigration programs of Canada, which are the Canadian Experience Class, Federal Skilled Worker Program and the Federal Skilled Trades Program. The Express Entry candidates are ranked on the basis of Comprehensive Ranking System(CRS) score and awarded a score out of 1200 based on various factors such as age, education, work experience and language skills. Those with the highest scores are invited to apply for permanent residence in Canada. Candidates who have a provincial nomination will have 600 CRS score points added to their total score. This would guarantee them an invitation to apply for permanent residence in Canada in a subsequent draw.
