613 PNP candidates with CRS 737 invited in November 24 Express Entry draw

In the latest Canada Express Entry draw held on November 24, a total of 613 Provincial Nominee Program candidates received invitations to apply for permanent residence in Canada. The minimum Comprehensive Ranking Score(CRS) to receive an invitation in the draw was 737. As all the invited candidates are provincial nominees, they have already received 600 additional CRS score points. It means, the minimum basic CRS score of the invited candidates could be as low as 137 points.

This is the sixth consecutive PNP-specific draw being held by the Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada(IRCC). In the previous draw held on November 10, a total of 775 candidates with a minimum CRS score of 685 had received invitations.

Express Entry draws during pandemic period

As we know, COVID-19 pandemic led to changing of patterns of Canada Express Entry draws. In 2021 so far, the Express Entry draws have only targeted Canadian Experience Class(CEC) and Provincial Nominee Program(PNP) candidates. A total of 33 PNP-specific draws have been held this year in which 17785 candidates have received invitations. The number of Canada Experience Class-specific draws held so far this year is 27 and a total of 133868 invitations have been issued. The largest CEC-specific draw ever was also held in 2021, on February 13, when 27332 CEC candidates with a minimum CRS score of 75 received invitations. Besides, the immigration department has been issuing 6000 CEC invitations at a time throughout this summer. Now the Express Entry draws are focusing on PNP candidates, which means Canada is committed to addressing the labour shortage and demographic challenges being the provinces. 

Canada Express Entry

The Express Entry system of Canada manages applications for immigration under the three economic immigration programs of Canada, which are the Canadian Experience Class, the Federal Skilled Worker Program, and the Federal Skilled Trades Program. The candidates who wish to migrate to Canada through Express Entry must create an Express Entry profile. Each of these Express Entry profiles will be assessed on the basis of various human capital factors such as age, education, work experience etc. and awarded a Comprehensive Ranking System(CRS) score. All the Provincial Nominee Programs have at least one immigration stream or category aligned to the federal Express Entry system. The Express Entry candidates who are nominated by the provinces receive 600 additional CRS score points. That puts provincial nominees at a better place to receive an invitation to apply for permanent residence in Canada in a subsequent Express Entry draw.
