In the eleventh federal Express Entry draw of Canada held on April 26, the Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC) invited 3500 immigration candidates to apply for permanent residence. The Comprehensive Ranking System(CRS) cut-off score for the draw was 483. As it was an all-program draw, candidates from all the three federal economic immigration programs – Canadian Experience Class (CEC), the Federal Skilled Worker Program (FSWP) and the Federal Skilled Trades Program (FSTP) – received invitations in the draw.
In the previous Express Entry draw held on April 12, a total of 3500 candidates had received invitations to apply. The minimum CRS score required was 486.
In the month of March, IRCC invited a total of 21667 candidates, which is the second highest number of invitations to be issued in a single month. The first was when a total of 27332 CEC candidates were invited in a single draw held in February 2021. In March 2023, the IRCC held a total of four Express Entry draws, one each week, unlike the usual once in two weeks draws. In the first draw held in March, 667 ITAs were issued to Provincial Nominee Program (PNP) candidates. In the three other draws of the month, 7000 candidates were invited in each.

Express Entry
The Express Entry is an online system for managing applications for immigration under the three federal economic immigration programs of Canada, which are the Canadian Experience Class (CEC), the Federal Skilled Worker Program (FSWP) and the Federal Skilled Trades Program (FSTP).The candidates are assessed and ranked on the basis of Comprehensive Ranking System( CRS) score, which is awarded on the basis of various human capital factors such as age, education, work experience etc. Those with the highest CRS score are invited to apply for permanent residence in Canada in the Express Entry draws, which are usually conducted once in every two weeks. The candidates who are nominated by provinces will get 600 additional CRS score points that will guarantee them an invitation in a subsequent Express Entry draw.
