So far in 2025, IRCC has issued 53,320 ITAs through Express Entry, across different categories:
- Provincial Nominee Program (PNP): 15 draws
- Canadian Experience Class (CEC): 8 draws
- French-language proficiency: 4 draws
- Healthcare and social services: 3 draws
- Education category: 1 draw
Today’s draw looks a lot like the rest of the PNP rounds we’ve seen this year: fewer invitations, very high scores and no surprises!!
Honestly, these draws are starting to feel a little copy-paste. For candidates, that’s not a bad thing, it means consistency. But for anyone who started following immigration news now, it’s hard to shake the feeling that we’ve seen this movie before.
We can see that the Provincial Nominee Program (PNP) draws are shrinking. Compared to 2024, we’re seeing fewer invitations and smaller rounds. That’s not because IRCC is unwilling to issue invites, but because provinces have strict nomination caps. With fewer candidates making it into the pool, naturally the draws are leaner.
So, if you’re banking on a provincial nomination, keep in mind that this pathway still works, but competition is tougher than ever.
