Immigrate to Canada through Alberta PNP

The Alberta Advantage Immigration Program (AAIP) formerly called Alberta Immigrant Nominee Program (AINP) enables applicants who have the skills and experience required in Alberta to receive an Alberta Provincial Nomination Certificate which helps expedite the overall immigration process to Canada. Alberta PNP supports the economic growth of the region by attracting skilled and semi-skilled workers to the province.

The Provincial Nomination Programs (PNPs) including Alberta PNP enable Provincial and Territorial governments in Canada to attract immigrants to their region.

If you choose to immigrate to Canada through Alberta PNP, you must:

  • Apply and complete the provincial nomination process.
  • Demonstrate the skill set and ability to contribute to the economy of Alberta
  • Receive a Provincial Nomination Certificate from Alberta

After you receive the Provincial Nomination Certificate, you must:

  • Send an application to Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC) for Permanent Residence.
  • Individuals nominated by the Government of Alberta through Alberta PNP, along with their spouse/common-law partner and dependent children, can apply as a provincial nominee.
  • An IRCC officer will assess your application based on the Canadian Immigration requirements. These applications will not be assessed based on the six selection factors of the Federal Skilled Workers Program. The final decisions of these applications are taken by IRCC.
  • Alberta PNP provides options for both skilled and semi-skilled workers. You can apply either on your own or through your employer.

Requirements to apply for PR after PNP nomination

  • Complete and pass a medical examination.
  • Have security clearance.
  • Demonstrate sufficient funds to support himself/herself and his/her dependents after arriving in Canada.
