In a rare Monday Express Entry draw that was held on October 15, the Government of Canada issued 3900 Invitations to Apply(ITAs) for permanent residence. The minimum Comprehensive Ranking System (CRS) score required was 440, the lowest score drawn this year.
This is the fifth time that the minimum CRS score for all-program Express Entry draws comes at 440. In the previous Express Entry draw that was held on October 3, the minimum CRS score was 445, five points more than the CRS score requirement of the latest draw. The number of ITAs issued was same in October 3 draw too.
Tie-break rule was applied in this Express Entry draw as well, the date and time being September 18, 2018, at 11:06:29 UTC. It means all candidates with a CRS score of 440 and above, who submitted their Express Entry profiles before the said date and time, are invited to apply.
Usually, Express Entry draws are conducted in every two weeks. But the October 15 Express Entry draw took place just 12 days after the previous draw. Shorter time gap between two consecutive Express Entry draws means less time for the Express Entry pool to replenish, resulting in CRS score requirement coming down. Including the latest draw, IRCC has so far issued a total of 70,300 ITAs over 22 draws in 2018.
