In the 97th Express Entry draw held on August 22, 2018, the Government of Canada invited 3750 candidates to apply for permanent residence. The minimum Comprehensive Ranking System (CRS) score was 440, the lowest CRS score in 2018 so far. The draw size and the minimum comprehensive score in this draw are the same as in the previous draw held on August 8. This is the third draw in the year 2018 held with 440 as minimum CRS score.
Tie-break rule was applied in August 22nd Express Entry draw too, the date and time being February 21, 2018, at 11:28:03 UTC. It means all candidates with a CRS score of 440 and above, who submitted their profiles before the said date and time, received Invitations to Apply.
The IRCC has been issuing 3,750 ITAs in all the Express Entry draws held since June 13. Including today’s draw, the IRCC has so far issued a total of 54,700 ITAs over 17 draws in 2018. This is slightly more than the 54,487 ITAs issued over the first 17 draws of 2017. But the total number of ITAs issued by IRCC by August in 2017 was 63,777 ITAs.

Canada has set a target to admit 74,900 candidates through Express Entry in 2018. The target for 2019 is to admit 81,400 candidates. So it is expected that draw sizes will continue to increase and draws will become more frequent in the months to come.
