WHATSAPPCanada has emerged as the best country to immigrate to on the Anholt-Ipsos Nation Brands Index. In the Index that ranked 50 nations, Canada was also ranked as the best investment destination. In the overall ranking, Canada’s place was the third, five places up compared to the previous year (2018). The first and second places were taken by France and Germany, respectively.
The ranking was based on 20,035 online interviews with the participants, all of who were above the age of 18 years and belonged to 20 countries.
Canada emerged the best in three of the six individual categories, which are immigration and investment, people and governance. Canada was also the only country amExpress Entryong the top five to improve its place in categories including governance, culture, and tourism.
This is the second consecutive year where Canada is ranked the first for immigration and investment. Canada was selected as the best under this category based on its power to attract people from around the world to live, work and study here. The quality of life and business environment in the country were also taken into consideration for ranking.
The score for the immigration and investment factor is awarded on the basis of five composite attributes, which are work and live, quality of life, educational qualifications, invest in business and equality in society.
Further, the study asked the participants to attribute personality traits to the 50 countries. 39 percent of the participants found Canada to be friendly, 30 percent trustworthy, 29 percent happy and 19 percent generous.
The study was conducted by GfK Social and Strategic Research, acquired by Ipsos on October 10, 2018. The data collected through online interviews with more than 20000 candidates from 20 panel countries was weighed on the basis of key demographic characteristics such as age, gender, and education of the 2018 online population in that country. The study also used race/ethnicity for sample balancing in the U.S., UK, South Africa, India, and Brazil. The fieldwork was conducted during July 7-25, 2018. Fifty nations in North America, Europe, Asia Pacific, Latin America, and the Caribbean and Middle East/Africa were measured in the study.
