In the latest Express Entry draw that took place on November 27, a total of 3600 immigration candidates were invited by the Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC) to apply for permanent residence. The invited candidates had a minimum Comprehensive Ranking System (CRS) of 471 points. The minimum CRS cut-off score in the latest Express Entry draw is one point lower compared to the previous draw held on November 13.
As in the previous draws, tie-break rule was applied in the November 27 draw too, the time stamp given being November 11, 2019 at 6:29:10 UTC. It means those candidates with a minimum CRS score of 471, who submitted their Express Entry profiles before the said date and time, were prioritized in the draw.
The minimum CRS cut-off score is showing a decreasing trend since it touched a record high in the October 30 draw, when the CRS cut-off score was 475 points. However, the cut-off score in the latest draw is still comparatively high, which is attributed to a longer gap between two all-program Express Entry draws occurred in October. When the interval between two all-program Express Entry draws increases, it leads to more eligible profiles entering the Express Entry pool. So the IRCC sets the CRS cut-off score high to allow the highest qualifying candidates to be selected. However, as Canada has set an ambitious target to admit a high number of immigrants through Express Entry, the CRS cut-off score is expected to come down in the near future.
As per the Immigration Levels Plan for 2019-2021 announced by Canada on October 31, 2018, the country plans to admit around 25600 candidates through Express Entry during the plan period. Another 200000 are expected to be admitted through Provincial Nominee Programs within these three years.
