The number of immigrants who were awarded Canada PR through Express Entry has been on increase ever since the Express Entry system came into existence in 2015. Now, the detailed year-end report released by the Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada(IRCC) shows that the number of people who received Canada PR through Express Entry touched all-time high in 2018.
Canada PR and age factor
More than half of those who received Invitations to Apply(ITAs) in Express Entry belonged to the age group of 20 to 29. This is the age category that receives the highest points under the Comprehensive Ranking System (CRS). Express Entry candidates with a spouse in this age category receive 100 CRS points while those without a spouse receive 110 points.
Canada PR and education credential
90 percent of the candidates who received ITAs in Express Entry 2018 had post-secondary level education. Candidates with post-secondary level qualification receive CRS scores between 84 and 150. So it is another important factor that decides the success of Express Entry application. At the same time, Canadian education was a common factor that helped many candidates earn some additional CRS score points in Express Entry 2018.
Canada PR and job offer
Almost half of the candidates did not claim any additional CRS points last year. Only 10 percent of the candidates claimed points for arranged employment. It shows that job offer is not a necessary requirement to receive ITA through Express Entry.
Canada PR and country of Citizenship
As per the Express Entry year-end report for 2018, the most common country of citizenship among those admitted was India. Indians constituted 43% of those received Canada PR in 2018. Nigeria came second with 7% of applicants followed by China with 6%.
The number of immigrants admitted to Canada through Express Entry witnessed a significant increase in 2018. The number candidates who received Canada PR through Express Entry was 92000 in 2018, compared to 65423 in 2017.
