Canada tech immigration: Why techies choose Canada over the US?

In the recent years, the US has introduced a number of restrictions for immigrating tech workers that have prompted these techies to think about a better alternative. In June this year, US President Donald Trump suspended immigration for certain visa holders including H1-B visas, which are issued to highly skilled foreign professionals.
At the same time, Canada has kept its gates wide open for skilled tech workers. In the last three years alone, Canada welcomed tens of thousands of foreign tech workers. Further, immigrants make up 25 per cent of the overall workforce of Canada.
