Ever since travel restrictions were imposed by Canada in the wake of COVID-19 crisis, the Express Entry draws have been following a specific pattern, targeting provincial nominees and Canada Experience Class (CEC) candidates alternately. This is mainly because the candidates under both these categories would most probably be there in Canada and so, cross-border travels can be avoided. The previous draw held on May 1st exclusively targeted CEC candidates and the CRS requirement was 452, which is the lowest so far this year.
With the latest Express Entry draw, the total number Express Entry ITAs issued by IRCC has become 34,829. Despite the COVID-19 crisis, Canada has issued more number of ITAs in 2020, compared to the same time period in the past two years. In 2019, the number of ITAs issued through Express Entry by this time was only 31250. It seems Canada remains committed to meet its Express Entry immigration target of 85,800 ITAs in 2020.
