The date released by Statistics Canada recently revealed that the unemployment rate in Canada among the immigrants was one of the lowest. In January 2022, the proportion of employees who were planning to leave their jobs in the next one year was 6.4%. But in August 2022, this unemployment rate in Canada increased to 11.9%. It means the percentage almost doubled in the past six months. Job change was a reason for the rise in the number of job vacancies in Canada.
Another reason for the rise in the number of job vacancies was a high number of people reaching the retirement age. Data from Statistics Canada shows that a total of 307000 Canadians left their jobs in the month of August. It also indicates a major crisis being faced by Canada, which is a population that is aging fast.
