British Columbia PNP, in a draw held on September 5th, issued 397 invitations to apply for provincial nomination. The invitations were issued to candidates from the Skills Immigration and Express Entry BC streams. The candidates under the Express Entry BC: Skilled Worker and Express Entry BC: International Graduate categories, who have received nomination from British Columbia, will get 600 additional Comprehensive Ranking System (CRS) points. This will put them in a better position to obtain invitation to apply for permanent residence in Canada in the coming Express Entry draws conducted by the Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada(IRCC). At the same time, IRCC will process the applications for permanent residence from the British Columbia PNP Skills Immigration Stream candidates outside the Express Entry system.
British Columbia PNP:
In order to receive provincial nomination from British Columbia through the Skills Immigration and Express Entry B.C. streams, the candidates must first register with the Skills Immigration Registration System (SIRS). It is a point-based system that helps British Columbia to prioritize applicants for provincial nomination. Based on the information they provide upon registration, the candidates will receive a score. The factors based on which scores are awarded include education and work experience. The highest scoring candidates will be invited to apply for provincial nomination.
In most cases, candidates must have an indeterminate, full-time job offer in order to apply for immigration under British Columbia PNP.But for candidates applying through the BC PNP Tech Pilot program, the job offer must be in one of the 29 occupations under the BC PNP Tech Pilot, that too for a minimum period of one year.
