In the Ontario Immigrant Nominee Program (OINP) draw held on May 4, the province invited 102 French-speaking candidates to apply for provincial nomination. The invited candidates belong to the Express Entry French-speaking Skilled Worker(FSSW) stream of the OINP.
The Comprehensive Ranking System (CRS) score of the invited candidates ranged between 458 and 467. The draw targeted candidates who had submitted their Express Entry profiles between May 4, 2020 and May 4, 2021. Those who have received the invitations may submit the complete application within 45 days.
French Speaking Skilled Worker stream allows those with proficiency in both French and English to settle in the province of Ontario. It is not possible for the candidates to apply directly under the stream. OINP selects eligible candidates from the Express Entry pool and issues Notifications of Interest to those. Only those who have received Notification of Interest from Ontario can apply for provincial nomination under FSSW.
Ontario is holding its third FSSW draw of this year and altogether, the province has invited 374 FSSW candidates so far. The previous draws were held on January 13 and March 3. In the first draw, 484 immigration candidates received invitations. The CRS score of the invited candidates ranged between 456 and 460. The second draw that invited 126 candidates targeted those with CRS score points ranging between 455 and 467.
French-speaking Skilled Worker stream
To be eligible to receive an invitation under this program, candidates need to be eligible under either Canadian Experience Class or Federal Skilled Worker Program. The candidate must also meet minimum language requirement equal to Canadian Language Benchmark (CLB) 7 in French and 6 in English. You must also have enough funds to settle in Ontario.
If the candidates receive provincial nomination from Ontario, they will have 600 additional Comprehensive Ranking System (CRS) points added to their total CRS score. It will guarantee them an Invitation to Apply for permanent residence in the draws that are conducted regularly.
