In an unusual draw held on April 19, Manitoba PNP invited 399 Skilled Workers Overseas candidates to apply for provincial nomination. Unlike the typical Manitoba PNP draws which invite Skilled Workers in Manitoba and International Education Stream candidates also, the latest draw invited only Skilled Workers Overseas candidates.
The draw also had different Expression of Interest (EoI) score requirements for candidates. 30 candidates were invited under a strategic recruitment initiative and the minimum EoI score required for them was 703. The remaining 369 candidates were invited under another strategic recruitment initiative and the EOI score required was 708.
For the Express Entry candidates to be eligible for provincial nomination, their profiles need to be valid while the Manitoba Provincial Nominee Program assesses their application. All the invited candidates can submit the complete application within 60 days.

The first step to obtain a provincial nomination from Manitoba is to submit an Expression of Interest to the MPNP. Each Expression of Interest profile is then assessed and awarded a score out of 1000 points. To receive an invitation through the Manitoba Skilled Worker Overseas stream, candidates need to have previous connections to the province in the form of close family ties or previous education and work experience.

International graduates who have completed their education from a post-secondary institution in Manitoba may receive an invitation through the International Education Stream of Manitoba.

The Express Entry candidates, if successfully obtain a provincial nomination from Manitoba, will have 600 CRS score points added to their total CRS score.
