Manitoba Provincial Nominee Program draw invites 243 candidates

In the Manitoba Provincial Nominee Program (MPNP) draw held on April 8, the province invited 243 immigration candidates to apply for a provincial nomination. As in the previous Manitoba Provincial Nominee Program draws, the invitations were issued to candidates belonging to the Skilled Workers in Manitoba stream, Skilled Workers Overseas stream and International Education stream. Of the total 243 invitations that were issued, 208 invitations went to Skilled Workers in Manitoba stream candidates with a minimum Expression of Interest(EoI) score of 456. Fourteen invitations were issued to Skilled Workers Overseas candidates with a minimum EoI score of 708.  The remaining 21 invitations went to International Education Stream candidates. They had no EoI score requirement. The number of Express Entry candidates who received invitations in the draw was 15.

Streams under Manitoba Provincial Nominee Program

There are a number of streams under Manitoba Provincial Nominee Program. To receive an invitation to apply for provincial nomination from Manitoba, an immigration candidate must first submit an Expression of Interest to the Manitoba Provincial Nominee Program. Each EoI profile submitted in this manner will be assessed on the basis of various eligibility factors such as age, education, work experience etc., and awarded a score out of 1000. Those with the highest scores will receive invitations to apply for provincial nomination from Manitoba.

Both the Skilled Workers Overseas stream and the Skilled Workers in Manitoba stream are designed to meet the labour market needs of the province. To receive an invitation under the Skilled Workers Overseas stream, the candidates must demonstrate previous connections to the province in the form of close family ties, previous study or work experience in the province or an invitation issued through one of the Strategic Recruitment Initiatives of Manitoba.

At the same time, to receive an invitation under the Skilled Workers in Manitoba stream, candidates must have a full-time job offer from a provincial employer.

International graduates can receive provincial nomination through International Education Stream of Manitoba if they have skills that are in demand in Manitoba.

Express Entry immigration through Manitoba PNP

A provincial nomination gives chance for Express Entry candidates with low CRS scores to receive an invitation to apply from permanent residence in Canada. The Express Entry candidates, if obtain provincial nomination from Manitoba, will have 600 additional Comprehensive Ranking System score points added to their total CRS score. That would guarantee them an invitation to apply for permanent residence in Canada.
