OINP conducts draws for this stream almost every week and so far 1,316 invitations have been issued through this stream in 2018.
Skilled Trades Stream
The Skilled Trades Stream is for Express Entry candidates currently living in Ontario. However, there is no minimum Comprehensive Ranking System (CRS) score requirement for this stream. The basic eligibility criteria include:
-The candidate must have either one year of full-time work experience or equivalent level of part-time work experience in one of the skilled trades that are listed in Minor Group 633 or Major Group 72, 73, or 82 of the National Occupational Classification (NOC) list of Canada.
-The candidate must meet eligibility criteria for the Canadian Experience Class
-The candidate must have minimum language proficiency of Canadian Language Benchmark (CLB) 5 in English or French.
French-Speaking Skilled Worker Stream
This stream is meant for Francophone candidates who also have strong English language abilities. Candidates need not apply to this stream. Instead, eligible candidates who have indicated their interest to immigrate to Ontario will receive a Notification of Interest (NOI) from the OINP on the basis of their Express Entry profile. The Stream does not demand minimum CRS requirement either.
