The Saskatchewan In-demand Occupations List has been updated by adding 13 new professions that include computer programmers and interactive media developers. Work experience in one of the occupations listed in the Saskatchewan In-demand Occupations List is an important pre-requirement to apply for provincial nomination under the Express Entry and Occupation In-Demand sub-categories of the Saskatchewan Immigrant Nominee Program (SINP). However, it is not necessary for the candidate to have a job offer from a Saskatchewan employer to apply under these subcategories.
The Saskatchewan In-demand Occupations List updated, on April 4, comprises 24 occupations that include the newly added 13 occupations. Nine occupations have been removed from the list as part of the update. Out of the 24 occupations in the list, nine demand professional status or licensure. All these nine occupations are newly added and the specified educational requirements for each of these professions are different from one another.
According to SINP, the periodic revision of the In-Demand Occupations List aims to ensure positive employment prospects in Saskatchewan.
