After a significant change made in the In-demand Occupation List for Express Entry and Occupations In-demand subcategories of Saskatchewan Immigrant Nominee Program (SINP), the province conducted its nomination draw on September 25. SINP extended invitations to 769 Express Entry and Occupation In-Demand candidates to apply for a provincial nomination for Canadian permanent residence (PR).
All the invited candidates represented 100 occupations that included civil and chemical engineers, medical radiation technologists, psychologists, and information systems analysts and consultants.
Last week, the changes made to the In-demand Occupation List ofSINP significantly expanded the number of high-skilled occupations that are eligible under its popular Express Entry and Occupation In-Demand subcategories from 19 to 218.
The category-wise breakup of invitations includes 365 invitations to Occupation In-Demand candidates and r 404 invitations to candidates under the Express Entry subcategory that is linked to federal Express Entry system. An additional 600 points towards their Comprehensive Ranking System(CRS) score is awarded to Express Entry candidates with a provincial nomination, thereby guaranteeing an invitation to apply for Canada PR visa.
It has also been reported that the September 25 draws were among the largest held by the province since it switched its Express Entry and Occupation In-Demand subcategories to an Expression of Interest (EOI) system on July 2018. The latest draw gave invitations to candidates with minimum EOI scores – 70 for Express Entry subcategory and 79 for Occupation In-Demand subcategory.

SINP: EOI system
The shift from first-come-first-serve to Expression of Interest (EOI) system has effectively addressed the labor requirements of the region by maintaining a list of eligible candidates for Express Entry and Occupation In-Demand subcategories.
The SINP’s EOI system issues a score to eligible candidates based on factors such as their education, work experience, proficiency in English or French and connections to Saskatchewan. Accordingly, the candidates above the threshold score are invited to apply for a provincial nomination through regular draws from the SINP’s EOI pool.
While no job offer or work experience in Canada is required for interested candidates to apply under Express Entry and Occupation In-Demand subcategories, at least one year of work experience in one of the province’s eligible occupations related to the applicant’s field of study is mandatory to be considered for a provincial nomination.
Canada Provincial Nominee Program offers an unparalleled choice of immigration and is gradually been considered as the best alternative to federal Express Entry program for overseas skilled migration. The participating provinces offer unlimited work opportunities and flexible immigration options to migrate along with your family.
