In the latest draw held on May 1, Saskatchewan Immigrant Nominee Program (SINP) invited 202 candidates of Express Entry and Occupation In-Demand immigration subcategories to apply for permanent residence in Canada. The candidates selected were those having work experience in seven specific occupations in the In-Demand Occupations List of Saskatchewan, which were:

May 1 draw is the second draw of Saskatchewan that targeted candidates with work experience in specific occupations that are in its In-demand List. The first occupation-specific draw was held on April 17, when Express Entry and Occupation In-Demand candidates with work experience in four occupations were invited. All these four occupations were removed from the In-demand Occupations List after the draw.
Saskatchewan In-demand Occupations List
It is a mandatory requirement for the candidates of both the Express Entry and Occupation In-Demand sub-categories of SINP that they must have work experience in an In-demand Occupation of the province to be considered for provincial nomination. But a job offer is not necessary.
Following the May 1 draw, SINP removed the occupation Conference and Event Planners (NOC 1226) from its In-demand list. This is the third time the SINP is updating the in-demand occupations list since the start of April.
SINP Expression of Interest (EoI)
The first step for the candidates of Express Entry and Occupation In-demand sub-category to be considered for provincial nomination from Saskatchewan is to create an Expression of Interest (EOI) profile with the SINP. Each profile is assessed and given a score based on a number of eligibility factors such as education, work experience and language proficiency. The highest scoring profiles are invited to apply for provincial nomination from Saskatchewan in the draws that are conducted regularly.
The lowest score required for candidates in the May 1 draw was 67. The Express Entry candidates who obtain provincial nomination from Saskatchewan would receive 600 additional Comprehensive Ranking System (CRS) score points that would guarantee them an invitation to apply for permanent residence in Canada in the subsequent Express Entry draw.
