Part-Time Work Options for Students

Residence Permit Extension

Students can apply for an extension of their residence permit to find employment after completing their course in Sweden. The residence permit can be extended for a maximum period of six months. The conditions for extending the permit include:

  • The student must be holding a valid passport.
  • The student must have completed a course with a duration of at least two terms which means students enrolled in short-term courses are not eligible for the extension of their residence permit.
  • The student must prove that he/she has completed the course.
  • The student must be staying in Sweden at the time of application.
  • The student must demonstrate proof of sufficient funds to support his/her stay in Sweden.
  • The student must have health insurance.

Various Types of Engineering Degrees in France

Specialized Engineering Degree: The one-year course is meant for students who have already studied Engineering for five years. Those who have studied Engineering only for four years will have to study two years to get this degree. Specialized Master (MS): A technically oriented and highly focused course, MS degree in Engineering is offered by engineering colleges which are members of the Conference of Grandes Ecoles (CGE) in France. Engineering Colleges in France

France has two types of Engineering colleges:

Conférence des Directeurs des Ecoles Françaises d’Ingénieurs (CDEFI): a group of public and private colleges, recognized by CTI, and authorised to award the degree of Ingénieur Diplômé (graduate engineer).

Conférence des Grandes Ecoles (CGE): The Association of Grandes Ecoles awards national diplomas recognized by the French government in a number of fields, apart from Engineering, such as Management, Science and Arts.
