In a rare Thursday Express Entry draw held on November 15, the Government of Canada issued 3900 invitations to apply for permanent residence. The minimum Comprehensive Ranking System (CRS) score required in this draw was 449.
With the latest draw, the total number of invitations issued this year has reached 78,100. Now the Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC) is only around 8,000 invitations away from the record of 86,023 total invitations issued last year.
As in the previous draws, tie-break rule was applied in this draw as well, the date and time being September 16, 2018, at 12:41:42 UTC. It means all candidates with a CRS score of 449 or above, who submitted their Express Entry profiles before the said date and time were issued invitations.
The minimum CRS score of 449, required for the latest Express Entry draw, is seven points higher than the previous draw held on October 29, when the minimum score was only 442. Experts point out that as the time gap between two consecutive draws increases, more candidates enter the Express Entry pool, compelling IRCC to raise the minimum CRS requirements. The gap between the latest two draws was 17 days, compared to the usual two weeks.
