In the fifth Express Entry draw of 2019 held on March 6th, the Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC) invited 3,350 candidates to apply for permanent residence in Canada. The minimum Comprehensive Ranking System (CRS) score points required for candidates was 454, slightly lower than the minimum CRS requirement of 457 in the previous draw held on February 20.
As in the previous draws, tie-break rule was applied in the March 6 draw as well, the date and time being February 11, 2019 at 17:21:27 UTC. It means all candidates who had submitted their Express Entry profiles before the said date and time received invitations to apply for permanent residence in Canada.
With the latest draw, the number of ITAs issued by IRCC so far this year has already reached 17,850 and Canada is taking all efforts to meet its economic immigration targets for the year. As a result, minimum CRS score requirement is likely to come down further.
As per Canada’s updated Immigration Levels Plan for 2019-2021, the number of immigration applications accepted through the Federal Skilled Worker Class, Canadian Experience Class, and Federal Skilled Trades Class will be increased to 256,000 over the next three years. Yet another 200,000 or so new permanent residents will settle through the Provincial Nominee Programs (PNPs) before the end of 2021. In the light of the updated Immigration Levels Plan, it is expected that more invitations will be issued over the coming weeks, months, and years, benefiting Canada immigration aspirants all over the world.
