Canada Express Entry is one of the most popular Canada immigration pathways through which the country admits several thousands of new permanent residents from different parts of the world every year. By 2021, Canada aims to admit around 90,000 through Express Entry alone, as per the Canada Immigration Levels Plan for 2019-2021.
Canada Express Entry migration
Those who wish to migrate to Canada through Express Entry must first create an Express Entry profile. Based on the information provided in the profile regarding various eligibility factors such as age, education, language proficiency, work experience etc., each candidate is awarded a CRS score out of 1200. IRCC sets a CRS cut-off score for every Express Entry draw and those who qualify based on this score are invited apply for permanent residence in Canada. The CRS makes Express Entry an impartial, impersonal and fair system to select candidates for Canada migration.
To enter the Express Entry pool, a candidate must prove their eligibility under one of the three major federal economic immigration programs managed under the Express Entry, which are Federal Skilled Worker Class, Canadian Experience Class, or Federal Skilled Trades Class. The candidates who receive provincial nomination through an Express Entry-aligned Provincial Nominee Program category/stream are awarded an additional 600 CRS score points that guarantee them an invitation to apply for Canada PR in the subsequent federal Express Entry draw.
