IRCC Conducts Express Entry Draw for French Speakers, Invites 5,000 Candidates with 382 CRS Cut-Off

Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC) has conducted a new Express Entry draw 437 for French-language proficiency, inviting 5,000 candidates to apply for permanent residence. The draw required a minimum Comprehensive Ranking System (CRS) score of 382.The latest invitation round focused on candidates with strong French-language skills. This highlights Canada’s continued focus on attracting French-speaking immigrants outside Quebec.
Moreover, it supports Canada’s goal of strengthening Francophone communities across the country.

French-language proficiency remains one of the key category-based selection criteria under Express Entry. Candidates who demonstrate strong French skills can benefit from additional CRS points and may also qualify for category-based draws focused specifically on French-language proficiency.

This is the 10th French-language draw of 2026, bringing the total invitations under this category to 50,500 so far this year. This accounts for roughly 43% of all Express Entry invitations issued in 2026.

The latest draw once again highlights the importance of improving language skills and exploring category-based Express Entry pathways when planning Canadian permanent residence.
