In the latest Manitoba draw held on October 24, a total of 157 skilled foreign workers were invited to apply for provincial nomination. The invited candidates were selected through the Skilled Worker in Manitoba, Skilled Worker Overseas and International Education immigration pathways under the Manitoba Provincial Nominee Program (MPNP). With the latest draw, the total number of invitations to apply for a provincial nomination issued by Manitoba to skilled worker candidates so far this year has touched 6731.

Manitoba Express Entry
In the October 24 Manitoba draw, 12 invitations went to Express Entry candidates. To be considered for provincial nomination from Manitoba, Express Entry candidates must have eligible work experience in one of the in-demand occupations of Manitoba, besides meeting other requirements. They must also have submitted a separate Expression of Interest to the MPNP.
Manitoba Skilled Worker Overseas
Under the Skilled Worker Overseas category of MPNP, foreign workers with skills in demand in the Manitoba labour market can apply for provincial nomination. To be eligible, the candidate must meet certain criteria including previous connection to the province in the form of close family or friends residing here, previous education or work experience in the province or an invitation from MPNP to apply for provincial nomination issued through one of the Strategic Recruitment Initiatives of the province. All the 24 Skilled Worker Overseas candidates invited in the October 24 draw were invited through the Strategic Recruitment Initiative.
To be considered for provincial nomination, the candidates must first submit an Expression of Interest (EoI). Each EoI profile submitted to the MPNP is awarded a score based on a number of eligibility factors such as age, work experience, education, language proficiency etc. The highest scoring candidates are invited to apply for provincial nomination. The Skilled Worker Overseas candidates invited in the October 24 Manitoba draw had a minimum score of 685.
Skilled Worker in Manitoba
Skilled Worker in Manitoba category also operates on the basis of an EoI system. To be eligible under this category, the candidate must be working in Manitoba at the time of submitting the application and must have a full-time, permanent job offer from a Manitoba employer. The lowest EoI score of candidates invited in the October 24 Manitoba draw was 567.
International Education Stream
The international students who have graduated from one of the higher education institutions of Manitoba and possess certain in-demand skills can apply under this stream. The International Education Stream of Manitoba has three pathways: the Career Employment pathway, Graduate Internship pathway and Student Entrepreneur pathway.
