Immigrants constituted a major part of Canada’s nursing and healthcare support workforce, revealed a report published by Statistics Canada. The study analysed data from 2015/2016 and found that immigrants made up 22 percent of the total workforce in these occupations.

The Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC) launched six new immigration pathways earlier this year. Two among these exclusively targeted healthcare workers. One was for francophone healthcare workers and the other one for Anglophone healthcare workers. When these pathways were launched, Canada’s immigration Minister Marco Mendicino pointed out that these pathways were important because one in three healthcare workers in Canada were immigrants. Immigrate to Canada as a nurse

Once you have a positive NNAS assessment, you may apply for Nursing Canada registration in the concerned province or territory.
