In the Manitoba Provincial Nominee Program (MPNP) draw held on April 7, the province invited 223 immigration candidates to apply for a provincial nomination. The invitations were issued through three streams under the MPNP. Candidates under the Skilled Workers in Manitoba Stream received 156 invitations and the score of the lowest-ranking candidate was 739. International Education Stream candidates received 34 invitations. The remaining 33 invitations were issued to Skilled Workers Overseas candidates through a Strategic Recruitment Initiative and the minimum required score was 683.
Out of the total number of 223 invitations issued, 30 were issued to Express Entry candidates who had a valid Express Entry profile and a job seeker validation code. The April 7 Manitoba PNP 2022 was the 142nd draw of MPNP.
Skilled Worker in Manitoba stream
The Skilled Worker in Manitoba Stream under MPNP aims to cater to the specific needs of Manitoba employers. The stream allows the province to select eligible foreign workers with skills and training and nominate them for permanent residence in Canada. The candidates who have strong previous connection to the province of Manitoba receive priority treatment under the Stream. The Stream has two pathways under it: Manitoba PNP 2022 Work Experience Pathway and Employer Direct Recruitment Pathway. The Work Experience Pathway is for those candidates who are currently working in Manitoba on temporary work permits and international students. Employer Direct Recruitment Pathway is for those with job offers from approved Manitoba employers.
Skilled Worker Overseas Stream
The Skilled Worker Overseas Stream of Canada has both a dedicated Canada Express Entry pathway and a direct provincial pathway. The Express Entry pathway is for candidates who have an Express Entry profile. They must also demonstrate skills, training and work experience in one of the In-Demand Occupations of Manitoba. Further, they must have the potential to find employment as soon as they arrive in Manitoba.
Human Capital Pathway is for international skilled workers who have the skills, training and experience in one of the in-demand occupations of Manitoba. They must also demonstrate the potential to find employment as soon as they arrive in Manitoba.
International Education Stream
This stream is for international graduates from Manitoba colleges and universities. Unlike earlier, candidates need not have six months of work experience to qualify under this Stream. The stream has three pathways under it:
- Career Employment Pathway
- Graduate Internship Pathway
- Student Entrepreneur Pathway
