Ontario In-Demand Skills Stream
The Ontario In-Demand Skills Stream targets foreign workers who have received job offers in one of the in-demand occupations. Further, the candidates need high school-level education, a minimum language score of at least 4 in all proficiencies and sufficient settlement funds among other requirements.
Earlier, candidates under the In-Demand Skills Stream used to be invited on a first-come-first-served basis. So the application window would remain open for a brief period and the candidates need to submit their applications within this time, if they want to receive the invitation. But the system was criticized to be unfair towards candidates who had slow internet connections. So the stream was brought under the Expression of Interest system. Under the new system, interested candidates may submit their Expression of Interest any time.
