In the Manitoba Provincial Nominee Program (MPNP) draw held on March 24, a total of 191 immigration candidates received invitations to apply for provincial nomination. The invitations were issued through three immigration streams under the MPNP. A total 102 invitations were issued through the Skilled Workers in Manitoba stream and the lowest score of the candidates was 769 points. International Education Stream candidates received 25 invitations. The remaining invitations went to 64 Skilled Workers Overseas candidates through a Strategic Recruitment Initiative and the minimum score was 712.43 among the total 191 candidates invited in the draw were Express Entry candidates with a valid Express Entry ID and job seeker validation code.
Skilled Worker in Manitoba
The Skilled Worker in Manitoba stream allows Manitoba employers to select foreign workers who have the skills to cater to their specific needs. The stream prioritises those candidates who have strong attachment to the province. It has two pathways— Manitoba Work Experience Pathway and Employer Direct Recruitment Pathway.
Manitoba Work Experience Pathway is for those candidates who work in Manitoba on temporary work permits. Both temporary foreign workers and international graduates may receive invitations through this pathway. However, they need to have work experience in one of the In-Demand Occupations. Employer Direct Recruitment Pathway is for those applicants from the overseas who have a job offer from a Manitoba employer.
Manitoba Skilled Worker Overseas stream
Skilled Worker Overseas stream of MPNP targets those who have the skills and training in Manitoba’s in-demand occupations. Priority is given to those who have close family connections to Manitoba and high language proficiency besides other factors. The Skilled Worker Overseas Stream has two pathways under it— Manitoba Express Entry Pathway and Human Capital Pathway. The Express Entry pathway is for Express Entry candidates who meet the Express Entry criteria and has an active Express Entry profile. They also need to have skills, training and work experience in one of the in-demand occupations of Manitoba as well as strong family connection to the province. The Human Capital Pathway is for those candidates who have the skills, training and experience in one of the In-Demand Occupations of Manitoba. The candidates also need to prove that they have the potential to economically establish themselves in Manitoba.
International Education Stream
The International Education Stream is for those candidates who have graduated from one of the colleges or universities in Manitoba. Now it is not mandatory for the candidates to have six months of work experience to be eligible to apply under this stream. It has three pathways— Career Employment Pathway, Graduate Internship Pathway and Student Entrepreneur Pathway.
