In the Prince Edward Island Provincial Nominee Program (PEI PNP) draw held on October 15, a total of 211 candidates received invitations to apply for provincial nomination. Of the total number of invitations issued, 184 invitations were issued to Express Entry and Labour Impact category candidates. However, the Prince Edward Island has not revealed a breakdown of the invitations, neither the minimum EoI score required. The remaining 27 invitations were issued to Business Impact candidates, who scored at least 97 points.
Prince Edward Island PNP Express Entry
The Express Entry category under the PEI PNP is aligned to the federal Express Entry system. The Express Entry system manages applications for Canada immigration under the three federal economic immigration programs of the country, which are Federal Skilled Worker Program, Federal Skilled Trades Program, and Canadian Experience Class. Each Express Entry candidate is assigned a Comprehensive Ranking System(CRS) score based on various eligibility factors such as age, education, work experience, language ability etc. Those who receive provincial nomination from Prince Edward Island are awarded an additional 600 CRS score points that guarantee them an invitation to apply for permanent residence in Canada in the subsequent Express Entry draw.
So the first step for a candidate to receive an invitation under the Express Entry category of PEI PNP is to create an Express Entry profile.
Prince Edward Island PNP Labour Impact category
Labour Impact category is for those candidates who have job offer from a PEI employer as well as their support to settle in the province. The Labour Impact category is further divided into three streams, which are Skilled Worker, Critical Worker and International Graduate. In order to receive an invitation under this category, a candidate must submit an EoI profile to the PEI PNP.
Prince Edward Island PNP Business Impact category
In the draw held on October 15, a total of 27 Business Impact category candidates with a minimum EoI score 184 received invitations to apply. The candidates received invitations under the Work Permit Stream that allows foreign entrepreneurs to operate business in the province.
