The candidates invited in the draw held on January 16 belonged to the Express Entry, Labour Impact and Business Impact categories of Prince Edward Island Provincial Nominee Program (PEI PNP).
Of the total 123 invitations issued in the latest PEI PNP draw, 110 went Express Entry and Labour Impact category candidates. The remaining 13 invitations were issued to Business Impact category candidates.
Prince Edward Island Express Entry
The Prince Edward Island Express Entry category is aligned to the federal Express Entry system. The Express Entry candidates who receive provincial nomination from Prince Edward Island will obtain an additional 600 Comprehensive Ranking System (CRS) score points that would guarantee them an Invitation to Apply for Permanent Residence in Canada in the subsequent federal Express Entry draw. To be considered for provincial nomination in a Prince Edward Island Expression of Interest draw, the Express Entry candidate must submit a separate Expression of Interest to the PEI PNP.
Each Expression of Interest profile submitted this way is awarded a score based on the points assessment grid of the PEI PNP taking into consideration various eligibility factors such as education, work experience, language proficiency etc. The highest scoring candidates are invited to apply for provincial nomination in the draws that are conducted periodically.
Regarding the latest Prince Edward Island Expression of Interest draw, the PEI PNP has revealed neither the exact number of Express Entry candidates who were invited nor the minimum EoI score required.
Immigration candidates with a valid job offer and support from a PEI employer may apply for a provincial nomination through the Labour Impact category. The Labour Impact category has three streams: Skilled Worker, Critical Worker and International Graduate. The category also requires the candidate to submit an EoI to the PEI PNP.
The 13 candidates invited through the Business Impact: Work Permit stream in the latest draw had a minimum EoI score of 125. Those candidates who wish to own and operate a business on Prince Edward Island may apply through this category.
