Toronto also continues to be a major centre of tech industry in Canada. The city recorded a job growth rate of 23.9 per cent between 2017 and 2018. The study further predicts that the tech markets of Ottawa and Waterloo too will be witnessing an incredible growth in the near future.
British Columbia migration for tech workers
British Columbia has high demand for skilled and experienced international tech workers. If you are a tech worker who wishes to make Vancouver your permanent home, where you will have great career opportunities, you have a few options to consider. The first option is the British Columbia PNP Tech Pilot program under the British Columbia Provincial Nominee Program (BC PNP). It allows candidates working in one of the in-demand tech occupations of British Columbia to apply for a provincial nomination. However, to be eligible to migrate to British Columbia through this fast-track immigration pathway, the candidate must have a job offer from a British Columbia employer in one of the 29 in-demand tech occupations of the province.
Another option is applying through the Federal Skilled Worker Program (FSWP) of Express Entry that exclusively targets skilled workers. A job offer is not required to apply through FSWP. However, the candidate must have at least one year of work experience and demonstrate required level of language proficiency. If you are eligible for any one of these immigration programs, you can easily become a Canadian permanent resident.
