Ever since the country imposed travel restrictions and other precautionary measures in the wake of COVID-19 outbreak, the Express Entry draws have been targeting Canada Experience Class (CEC) candidates and provincial nominees. The last two draws were held on April 9 and one among these was exclusively for provincial nominees.
Provincial Nominee Programs allow provinces to nominate candidates for permanent residence in Canada on the basis of their labour market requirements. All provinces and territories except Quebec and Nunavut have at least one stream aligned to the federal Express Entry. Ever since the last all-program draw held on March 4, several provinces including Alberta, Manitoba, Saskatchewan and British Columbia have invited Express Entry candidates to apply for provincial nomination.
