The distribution of the 230 Letters to Advice to Apply(LAAs) issued in the November 21 draw is as follows:
Skilled Worker in Manitoba: 185
Skilled Worker Overseas: 16
International Education Stream: 29
With the latest draw, the total number of invitations issued by Manitoba to skilled workers and International Education Stream candidates so far this year has touched 7141.
Manitoba Expression of Interest (EoI) System
In order to be considered for a provincial nomination through either the Skilled Worker in Manitoba category or the Skilled Worker Overseas category, the candidates must first submit an Expression of Interest to the MPNP. Each candidate who creates an EoI profile with the MPNP is awarded a score out of 1000 based on a number of eligibility factors such as education, work experience, previous connections to the province and language proficiency. In the Manitoba Expression of Interest draws that are periodically conducted, the highest-scoring candidates are invited to apply for a provincial nomination.
In the latest draw, the minimum score of the invited candidates belonging to the Skilled Workers in Manitoba category was 504. At the same time, the minimum score of the Skilled Workers Overseas stream candidates was 739. Among the Skilled Workers Overseas candidates invited in the latest draw, 16 received their invitations directly under a Strategic Recruitment Initiative of the MPNP.
Manitoba Express Entry
The number of Express Entry candidates who received invitations in the latest Manitoba Expression of Interest draw was 20. The Express Entry candidates who receive provincial nomination from Manitoba are awarded 600 additional Comprehensive Ranking System (CRS) score points, which guarantee them an invitation to apply for permanent residence in Canada in the subsequent Express Entry draw. To be eligible to be invited through one of the Manitoba Expression of Interest draws, the candidates must have work experience in one of the in-demand occupations of Manitoba and meet other eligibility criteria. They must also submit a separate Expression of Interest to the MPNP.
Skilled Worker Overseas category
The Skilled Worker Overseas category of the MPNP allows Manitoba to select and nominate foreign skilled workers capable of supporting the labour market of the province. To be eligible for provincial nomination under this category, the candidate must have a previous connection to the province or received an invitation through one of the Strategic Recruitment Initiatives of the MPNP.
International Education Stream
Candidates who graduated from one of the higher education institutions in Manitoba and have certain in-demand skills may be invited for provincial nomination under the international education stream. The stream has three subcategories: Career Employment Pathway, Graduate Internship Pathway, and the Student Entrepreneur Pathway.
