In the latest MPNP draw held on September 10, Manitoba invited 212 candidates to apply for provincial nomination. The candidates invited in the draw belonged to Skilled Workers in Manitoba, Skilled Workers Overseas and International Education streams of Manitoba Provincial Nominee Program (MPNP).
The distribution of invitations issued in the draw is as follows:
Skilled Workers in Manitoba— 168 LAAs (Minimum score: 475)
Skilled Workers Overseas — 9 LAAs (Minimum score: 824)
International Education Stream-35 LAAs(No minimum score)
With the latest draw, the total number of invitations issued so far this year has reached 3511.
MPNP Express Entry
Among those who received invitations in the MPNP draw on September 10 were 22 Express Entry candidates. These candidates, if successfully apply for and obtain a provincial nomination, will have 600 additional Comprehensive Ranking System(CRS) score points added to their total CRS score. That would guarantee them an Invitation to Apply for permanent residence in Canada in the subsequent Express Entry draw.
MPNP Expression of Interest
To receive an invitation to apply for provincial nomination under either the Skilled Workers in Manitoba and Skilled Workers Overseas stream, the candidates must first register an Expression of Interest with the MPNP. Each Expression of Interest profile submitted in this manner is awarded a score out 1000 based on various eligibility factors such as language ability, education qualifications, work experience, previous connections to the province etc.
MPNP immigration streams
The Skilled Workers Overseas and Skilled Workers in Manitoba categories aim to meet the labour market needs of Manitoba. To qualify under these streams, the candidates must have an established connection to Manitoba, which can be demonstrated through close family members or friends residing in the province or previous work experience or an invitation received under one of the Strategic Recruitment initiatives of the MPNP. It is not necessary for the candidates to be physically present in Manitoba at the time of submitting the application. However, under the Skilled Workers in Manitoba category, the candidates need to have a full-time permanent job offer from a Manitoba employer.
At the same time, the International Education Stream of Manitoba targets international graduates from the post-secondary institutions in Manitoba, who have in-demand skills.
