In the federal Express Entry draw held on April 13, Canada invited 787 candidates were invited to apply for permanent residence. The invited candidates are those who have already received provincial nomination and they have a minimum Comprehensive Ranking System(CRS) score of 782. As we already know, the candidates who have a provincial nomination must already have received 600 additional CRS score points. So the minimum base point for these candidates who were invited in the latest draw was 182.
In the previous Express Entry draw held on March 30, the Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada(IRCC) had invited 919 PNP candidates with a minimum score of 785. Express Entry draws have been exclusively targeting PNP candidates since September 2021. The IRCC has not invited Canadian Experience Class(CEC) candidates and Federal Skilled Worker Program(FSWP) candidates during this period. It has been revealed that Canada is aiming to reduce immigration application backlogs before starting to invite candidates from these two categories. It is assumed that such Express Entry draws would resume this year itself.
The Express Entry system of Canada that came into effect in January 2015 is an online system that manages applications for permanent residence in Canada under the three federal economic immigration programs, which are the Canadian Experience Class(CEC), Federal Skilled Worker Program(FSWP) and the Federal Skilled Trades Program(FSTP). The candidates are assessed on the basis of various human capital factors and awarded a Comprehensive Ranking System (CRS) score. Those with the highest scores are invited to apply for permanent residence in Canada the draws that are conducted regularly.
