In the latest Manitoba Expression of Interest draw held on March 12, a total of 222 candidates received invitations to apply for a provincial nomination. In the 85th Expression of Interest draw of Manitoba Provincial Nominee Program (MPNP), candidates belonging to the following three streams received invitations:
- Skilled Workers in Manitoba: 191
- Skilled Workers Overseas: 13
- International Education Stream: 18
Among the 222 candidates who received invitations, 17 are Express Entry candidates.
Manitoba Express Entry candidate selection
To be considered for provincial nominations from Manitoba, Express Entry candidates must first submit an Expression of Interest to the Manitoba Provincial Nominee Program (MPNP). They must have work experience in one of the in-demand occupations of Manitoba and meet other requirements. Those who receive provincial nomination from Manitoba will have 600 additional Comprehensive Ranking System (CRS) score points added to their total CRS score, which guarantees them an Invitation to Apply for permanent residence in Canada in the subsequent Express Entry draw.
Manitoba Expression of Interest
To apply for provincial nomination from Manitoba through either the Skilled Workers in Manitoba and Skilled Workers Overseas categories, a candidate must submit an Expression of Interest to the MPNP. Each Expression of Interest profile submitted in this manner will be assessed on the basis of various eligibility factors such as education, work experience, previous connections to the province as well as language proficiency and awarded a score out of 1000. The highest scoring candidates will receive invitations in Manitoba Expressions of Interest draws. The minimum score of Skilled Workers in Manitoba candidates invited in the latest draw was 496 and that of the Skilled Workers Overseas stream candidates was 672.
At the same time, candidates belonging to the Skilled Workers in Manitoba category must have a full-time, permanent job offer obtained from a Manitoba employer and meet other requirements.
International students graduated from one of the post-secondary institutions of Manitoba and possess in-demand skills may apply through the International Education Stream.
