In the Provincial Nominee Program draw held on March 10, Manitoba invited 120 immigration candidates to apply for provincial nomination. Among the invited, 50 were Skilled Workers in Manitoba candidates with a minimum score of 781 points. International Education Stream candidates received 36 invitations and the remaining 34 invitations went to Skilled Workers Overseas candidates with a minimum score of 718. The Skilled Workers Overseas candidates were invited through a Strategic Recruitment Initiative of Manitoba and they were required to have a minimum score of 718. Thirty-three among the 120 invited candidates had valid Express Entry IDs and job seeker validation codes.
Manitoba Skilled Worker in Manitoba Stream
To be eligible under Skilled Worker in Manitoba Stream, the candidate must have a long-term, full-time job offer from a Manitoba employer or at least six months of work experience as a temporary foreign worker or international student working graduate. Skilled Worker in Manitoba Stream has two pathways under it–The Manitoba Work Experience Pathway and Employer Direct Recruitment Pathway.
Manitoba Skilled Worker Overseas Stream
The Skilled Worker Overseas Stream has both a Canada Express Entry Pathway and a direct provincial pathway. It targets international skilled workers who have the skills and training in the in-demand occupations of Manitoba. They also need to have previous connections to the province in the form of close family ties as well as language proficiency, training and experience to find jobs quickly. Candidates with an active Express Entry profile are invited to apply for provincial nomination from Manitoba through the Manitoba Express Entry pathway. These candidates are also required to have skills, training and experience in one of the In-Demand Occupations of Manitoba as well as previous connections to the province. The Human Capital Pathway is for those candidates with the skills, training and experience in one of the In-demand Occupations of Manitoba. The candidates also need to demonstrate the potential to find an employment in Manitoba as soon as they arrive.
International Education Stream
The International Education Stream is for those candidates who have graduated to from Manitoba colleges and universities and have skills that are in demand in Manitoba. Now, it is not necessary for the candidates to have six months of work experience to qualify under this stream. It has three pathways—Career Employment Pathway, Graduate Internship Pathway and Student Entrepreneur Pathway.
