British Columbia has introduced a number of changes to the British Columbia Provincial Nominee Program or BC PNP with an aim to effectively address the labour shortages in the province in a better manner. An important change among these is the introduction of a new list of priority occupations. A new policy of targeting occupations through periodic draws has also been introduced.
As part of these changes, healthcare assistants and dental assistants have been added to the list of eligible occupations in the Entry Level and Semi-skilled category of the province. Further, the Healthcare Professional category will be changed to Health Authority category, thus opening it to all health authority occupations.
Change has also been introduced to its Skilled Worker category, where requirement of two years of directly-related experience has been replaced with two years of skilled experience.
