WHATSAPPIn one of its largest draws held in this year, Prince Edward Island, the smallest province of Canada, invited 171 immigration candidates to apply for provincial nomination. The invited candidates belonged to the Express Entry, Labour Impact and Business Impact categories of Prince Edward Island Provincial Nominee Program (PEI PNP).
The latest draw held on November 21 is the second-largest draw conducted by Prince Edward Island after the one held on February 21 that issued invitations to 199 candidates.
PEI PNP Express Entry
Of the 171 invitations issued in the latest draw, 157 went to Express Entry and Labour Impact candidates and they may now apply for a provincial nomination from Prince Edward Island.
The Express Entry category of the PEI PNP is linked to the federal Express Entry system and those who receive provincial nomination will have 600 additional points added to their total Comprehensive Ranking System(CRS) score. It guarantees them an invitation to apply for permanent residence in Canada in the federal Express Entry draws that are conducted periodically.
The first step for an Express Entry candidate to apply for provincial nomination is to submit an Expression of Interest(EoI) to the PEI PNP. Each EoI profile submitted to the PEI PNP is awarded a score based on various eligibility factors and the highest-ranking candidates are invited to apply for a provincial nomination in the monthly draws.
PEI PNP Labour Impact
The foreign workers with a valid job offer from a PEI employer may apply through the Labour Impact category. The category has three streams: Skilled Worker, Critical Worker, and International Graduate. This category also requires the candidate to submit an EoI.
PEI PNP has not revealed a breakdown of how many Express Entry candidates were invited in the November 21 draw or the minimum EoI score required for the invited candidates. With the latest draw, the total number of Express Entry and Labour Impact category candidates invited in the year 2019 has touched 1336.
PEI PNP Business Impact
A total of 14 candidates with an EoI profile in the Business Impact: Work Permit Stream of PEI PNP also received invitations in the November 21 draw. The minimum score required for candidates in this stream was 130. Prince Edward Island has issued a total of 182 invitations through this stream so far this year.
