In the Expression of Interest draw held on May 21, Manitoba PNP invited 99 immigration candidates to apply for provincial nomination. The invitations were issued through the Skilled Workers in Manitoba, Skilled Workers Overseas and International Education streams of Manitoba Provincial Nominee Program (MPNP). Of the total number of invitations issued, 72 invitations went to Skilled Workers in Manitoba candidates. Skilled Workers Overseas candidates received 15 invitations and the remaining 12 invitations went to International Education Stream candidates.
With the latest draw, the total number of invitations issued by Manitoba so far this year has reached 2030.
Manitoba Express Entry
Nine Express Entry candidates were among those invited in May 21 MPNP draw. These candidates, if successfully apply for and obtain provincial nomination, will have 600 additional Comprehensive Ranking System(CRS) score points added to their total score. That would guarantee them an Invitation to Apply for permanent residence in Canada in the subsequent federal Express Entry draw.
Skilled Workers in Manitoba
The Skilled Workers in Manitoba category of MPNP targets temporary workers and international graduates. To be eligible, the candidates must be working in Manitoba at the time of receiving the invitation and have a job offer from a Manitoba employer. Besides, the candidates must also have submitted an Expression of Interest (EoI) to the MPNP. Those who submit an EoI are assessed and ranked on the basis of various eligibility factors such as education, work experience, previous connections to the province etc. and awarded a score out of 1000. The highest scoring candidates are invited to apply for provincial nomination in the MPNP draws that are conducted regularly. In the May 21 MPNP draw, the minimum score required for Skilled Workers in Manitoba candidates to be invited was 485.
Skilled Workers Overseas
The Skilled Workers Overseas candidates invited in the May 21 draw are those who were invited directly through a Strategic Recruitment Initiative. This includes the overseas recruitment missions conducted by Manitoba, often in collaboration with the employers. The Skilled Workers Overseas category too operates on the basis of the Manitoba Expression of Interest system. The minimum score required for Skilled Workers Overseas candidates in the May 21 draw was 613.
International Education
The International Education Stream of MPNP targets international graduates of the post-secondary institutions of Manitoba, who have certain in-demand skills. The stream has three sub-categories, which are–Career Employment Pathway, Graduate Internship Pathway, and the International Student Entrepreneur Pilot. No minimum EoI score was provided for International Education candidates in the May 21 draw.
